Experienced career diplomat Thabo Thage is preparing to go to Washington DC to represent South Africa. He is the first to the position after the former ambassador, Ebrahim Rasool, was expelled in March last year after he said on a webinar that US President Donald Trump was mobilising a “[white] supremacist” movement.
