Africa’s energy investment landscape will be a central focus at African Energy Week (AEW) 2026 in Cape Town, where the African Energy Chamber (AEC) will launch its State of African Energy 2027 Outlook.

It will examine the forces shaping Africa’s energy sector and the investment opportunities emerging across the continent.

Its launch comes as African countries look to expand energy access while drawing capital into new and existing energy projects. Industry leaders, investors, policymakers, and energy companies will gather for the event.

The 2027 Outlook will cover Africa’s oil and gas industry, power sector, renewable energy, and critical minerals—areas that are increasingly interconnected as countries pursue energy security, domestic industrial development, and investment in infrastructure and resources.

Its findings will also feed into discussions at AEW 2026 on where investment is needed and where new opportunities are emerging across African energy markets.

AEW 2026 takes place in Cape Town from Oct. 12–16 under the theme “Invest in African Energies: Affordable and Abundant Energy Additions for Africa.” It will bring together energy companies, investors, government officials, and other stakeholders from Africa and beyond.

Participants will get an early look at the trends and opportunities expected to shape the continent’s energy investment environment in the year ahead.

Africa Monitoring is the Official Media Partner of AEW 2026 and will provide coverage from Cape Town.
