Gabonese singer Patience Dabany is set to return to the stage in Libreville on Saturday evening, November 7, with a concert titled “La Dernière Danse” at the Palais des Congrès Omar Bongo Ondimba. The performance is being presented as a celebration of her six decades in music and a reunion with audiences after a period away from the stage.

In an interview published by Gabon's daily L'Union on November 5, Dabany said the title “Dernière Danse” should not be interpreted as an announcement of her retirement. The singer explained that she intends to continue performing and described the project as a new chapter rather than a farewell.

The musical project, also known as “La Dernière Danse,” brings together 80 tracks, including 60 songs associated with Dabany's career and 20 new compositions, GabonReview reported. The collection combines a retrospective look at her musical journey with new material featuring both Gabonese and international artists.

The concert is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. local time, with doors opening at 6 p.m. The event listing on the Gabonese ticketing platform shows that tickets have sold out, indicating strong demand for the performance.

Songs such as “Chéri, ton disque est rayé” and “Associé” have remained part of Dabany's musical legacy, reaching audiences across generations. Her return to the stage offers fans an opportunity to revisit familiar favourites while discovering the latest chapter of her artistic work.

After six decades in music, Dabany's “La Dernière Danse” is shaping up not as a farewell, but as a celebration of a career that continues to evolve.
